Hello, I'm Waldemar.
I'm a nomadic creative, born in Kazakhstan, back in the days when it was the Soviet Union. I grew up in Germany but failed to become as serious as the Germans. As if my name’s not complicated enough I go by “Wal”, pronounced “Val.”
Since I can remember I've always been creating. While other kids played outside I'd imagine fantasy worlds and bring them to life with pen and paper. This passion led me to pursue design and had me playing around with Photoshop by the age of 14. After school I went on to work and learn in various countries like England, Sweden, Japan and the US, creating communication for brands such as Microsoft, Google, Nike and Coke Zero.
Besides countless adventures, these travels gave me a deeper understanding of cultural differences and a global perspective that I try to incorporate into my projects. I am very passionate about craft and I've been both an art director and a copywriter - yet what I enjoy most is the process of concept development and filling blank pages with ideas that scare me. I value a collaborative work environment where people provide constructive feedback and strive to create work they are proud of.
Currently I live in Boulder, CO where I hike around the Rocky Mountains, experiment with mixology and work for Crispin Porter+Bogusky.
